Sourcing
Advice articles cite their sources — official state resources, government consumer guides, and named industry publishers. Cost figures are quoted from named published sources with inline attribution; we do not blend, model, or invent numbers. Where no citable figure exists, we publish no figure.
Independence
No sponsored editorial. Advertisers and Featured Partners have no influence on article content, directory inclusion, or listing order. Directory listings describe public records and never contain praise, criticism, or recommendations.
AI assistance
Software and AI may help organize source material or draft listing summaries. A human editor is accountable for every published advice article. Technical, safety, insurance, and financial claims must trace to a named primary or authoritative source; forum anecdotes are used only to identify questions homeowners are asking.
Corrections
We update material errors transparently and change the article's updated date when its advice materially changes. Send editorial corrections to [email protected]. Public-record listing corrections follow the process at Data Sources & Corrections.
Commercial separation
An article must answer the reader's question without requiring a purchase. Advertising, affiliate links, and referral options are disclosed near the relevant link and do not determine our conclusions. Read How We Make Money and our separate Privacy Policy.
