How We Make Money

The guides are free to read. Here is how the site pays for itself today.

Display advertising

Guides and cost guides may carry standard display ads. Navigation pages, tools, and trust pages don't.

Email offers

Our free homeowner emails may include occasional relevant offers, clearly marked. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Partner links

Guides do not include paid partner or affiliate links today. If we add one, we will label it next to the link, and it will never change what a guide says.

We do not sell ranking positions, paid reviews, or endorsements. A reader can use a guide's checks without buying anything or joining the email list.
